  • Finalists notified by Friday February 4.
  • Presentations on Thursday February 24 at the OSU Green Student Initiative Proposal Symposium
  • Proposals will be judged on their feasibility, creativity, scope of impact, longevity, project duration and timeline, and any possible payback or savings.
  • New LEED Student Union Marketing Project
    • ECO-OSU invited to develop marketing/Branding of the LEED certification and recycling initiative in the new union, hope to create brand recognition and be able to apply program to other buildings/areas on campus

    • Feb 7- Morgan to meet with physical plant, SGA sust, and new recycling data curator to facilitate consistency and eliminate repetition.
    • Lake McMertury
      • City of Stillwater is developing the East side of Lake McMertury in order to sell the land for a profit.
      • We need to have a say in this discussion- deforestation and additional environmental degradation is not the best alternative for additional funding.
      • Stillwater Red Dirt Peddlers and OSU Cycling Club are protesting.
      • More info to come, keep your ears open.
      • Airport Road Recycling Drop-off site SIGN UPDATE!
        • Making progress, heard back from Waste Management
        • Need to clarify with Allied Waste because they own the containers, but fine by WM!
        • Plan: decoratively paint the receptacles at our site with simple instructions and rules large enough for people to read and want to abide by (EDUCATE THE RECYCLER TO MINIMIZE CONTAMINATION)
        • Sustainability Interest Group Brown Bag at Library
          • Join other lively faculty across campus interested in creating a culture of Sustainability at OSU: i.e. sustainability curriculum, greening campus, interdisciplinary grant collaboration. Featured speaker Friday, January 28, 12:00 - 1:00 pm in NE McCollom Room 1st floor : Management Professor Dr. Jim Pappas "Learning to Teach Sustainability" sponsored by Spears School of Business.
