Alpha
Chapter Mascots
Bartholomew
In the late 1970s,
the Guiding Spirit of Kappa Kappa Psi determined that he could no longer
keep a constant eye on the proceedings of the Alpha chapter. But, just to
make sure nothing went wrong for Alpha, the Guiding Spirit sent Bartholomew,
a hobbit, to monitor the chapter. Though he appeared to be a rabbit, his
cultured nature, love of the arts, and deductive reasoning set him apart
from those simpler creatures. Bart served as a faithful and loyal friend to
the brothers of Alpha, always offering encouragement in times of trouble and
praise in times of success. Bart constantly promoted good will among all
and stood fast by the ideals and purposes of Kappa Kappa Psi.
Benjamin
In 1986, Bart left
the chapter to follow a journey of his own. Promising to return someday, he
left his brother Benjamin in his stead. Benji is a bit wilder than Bart
was, and has traveled with Alpha to all sorts of various locales; however,
his commitment to the ideals of Kappa Kappa Psi is just as strong, if not
stronger, than Bart's was. In fact, the Alpha brothers believe that if Bart
were with them today, he would be quite proud of the work Benji has done to
guide and support them. Benji has become a little older and a little wiser
during his time with Alpha, but has no plans to leave - not when there are
brothers to come who will require his guidance.
